Alice Miceli

‘In Depth (landmines) – Europe’ (working-title) (2015-2016)

‘Alice Miceli’s work explores the phenomenon of impenetrable, inaccessible spaces—places that, even in our globalized world, remain somehow off the map. In the Chernobyl Project 2007-2012, Alice’s research was centered on the creation of visualization patterns for the invisible radioactive contamination in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. In her current research In Depth (landmines) 2015, she has so far looked into mine contaminated areas in Cambodia and Colombia. During the Mejan Residents project, her next step will be to explore mine fields in Europe, notably in Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina, which remain affected as a result of the conflict related to the collapse of Yugoslavia in the 1990s.’
