The Project programme is a part of the Royal Institute of Art´s range of educational programmes at the advanced level. The course aims at offering the possibility for professional artists to complete a project in an in depth way. Applicants should have a degree in art or the equivalent knowledge/experience and be a practicing artist.

The programme can extend over one semester or one academic year and is a full-time programme (30 resp. 60 ECTS-credits). During this time the student researches and completes his/her artistic project. He/she is also trained in new techniques within the range of techniques that the Royal Institute of Art offers.

On the basis of the student´s own project aims and objectives the project student´s studies is individually designed and planned together with the supervising teacher. The teaching also involves theory studies, supervision and seminars. Moreover, students can choose to follow the regular lectures in Art history and Art theory.

Applicants should present a project idea and a motivation in writing to why he/she wants to follow the programme. The project student is not entitled to a studio space but is instead provided with a space in a workshop. The Royal Institute of Art offers a large range of courses during the academic year for all students. Only previously negotiated courses within the specified study field/project are open to the project student.
