Not all that many decades ago photography was a relatively new artistic medium. Today, photography is an accepted technique among many others on the artist’ palette.
Students at KKH can make a specialist study of photographic processes and can explore issues that are inherent in the medium and that can be coupled to the student’s own projects.
Instruction in photography is given in the form of individual instruction, lectures, seminars and supervision of student projects and graduate artistic R&D projects.
Students in the photography department can work with both analogue and digital equipment. Prints of up to 150cm can be made in the workshops. A digital photography studio enables students to work with digital images at a professional level. There is access to a photo studio with full lighting equipment and a computer room with equipment for printing on a host of different media including paper, plastic, textile fabrics and so on.
