Kungl. Kandidatutställningen concerns spatiality and the materiality of objects. Art critic Lars-Erik Lappalainen describes the exhibition as ‘the space that opens up between form and function, abstraction and the known, representation and material—a diversion from the place and plane where consensus regarding reality is reached. The exhibition “digs caves” into social space, creating room for other perspectives.’
Eighteen students present their thesis works in the exhibition, including sculpture, installation, video, machines, painting, and performance.
